About Pallavi

Pallavi Kachoria built a steady path into the law over two decades. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University in 1997 and returned to school later to earn her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2014. Those academic markers frame a professional life that moved from undergraduate study into law school and then into practice in Maryland.

After graduating from law school, she entered private practice. She serves as an associate at Paley Rothman, where she participates in the day-to-day legal work typical of a firm attorney: research, drafting court papers, counseling clients and supporting more senior lawyers on complex matters. Her role as an associate has involved both client-facing responsibilities and behind-the-scenes preparation, the combination that defines much associate-level practice at mid-size firms.

Kachoria is admitted to practice in Maryland. She maintains memberships in local and statewide bar groups, including the Maryland State Bar, the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Maryland. Closer to where she works, she is active in the New Practitioners Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County. Those memberships place her in professional networks for newer attorneys and in circles that address issues affecting women and Asian Pacific American lawyers in the state.

Her educational timeline and bar memberships suggest a lawyer who came to the profession after substantial time in another field or in other pursuits, then committed to building a practice. At the firm she has handled matters that require careful legal research and written advocacy. She has also taken part in client meetings and strategy sessions, work that often falls to associates who are developing courtroom and negotiation skills.

Colleagues describe Kachoria as methodical and attentive to detail, attributes that show in the kind of tasks she undertakes. She remains involved in professional groups aimed at supporting lawyers at early stages of their careers and those that address the experiences of women and Asian Pacific American attorneys in Maryland.

She currently practices at Paley Rothman, representing clients in the state of Maryland.
