About Owen Matthew

Owen Matthew Seman earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 2000. His legal education in Pittsburgh came at the turn of the century and set the stage for a long career practicing in Pennsylvania. The coursework and clinics at Duquesne provided foundational training in litigation, client counseling and legal writing.

After law school, Seman began practicing in Pennsylvania. Over the ensuing years he has worked in matters that required appearances before state courts and administrative bodies. He has more than two decades of experience navigating the procedural demands of Pennsylvania practice. Colleagues describe him as practical in the courtroom and steady at the negotiation table.

Seman’s work has included contested hearings and negotiated resolutions. He has handled trial preparation, motions practice and client counseling on procedural and substantive questions that arise in state-level matters. He has represented individual clients and advised small businesses on legal steps they need to take. That breadth has given him a working familiarity with how state courts and agencies address evidence, deadlines and discovery.

Throughout his career Seman has balanced courtroom assignments with outside-of-court problem solving. He prepares written submissions, conducts factual development and meets clients to set realistic objectives. He tends to favor clear, direct explanation of legal options so clients can make informed decisions. That approach has informed how he staffs matters and how he sequences litigation tasks.

Seman has maintained his practice in Pennsylvania even as the legal landscape has changed. He has handled matters that required adapting to evolving rules of procedure and to changes in local court practices. He keeps current on developments that affect the day-to-day conduct of cases and the timing of filings.

Today he practices from the Law Offices of Owen Seman. He continues to represent clients in Pennsylvania state matters, managing both contested and noncontested work and providing counsel on the procedural aspects of legal disputes.
