About Otto S
Otto S Hurtado earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004. He went on to receive his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2008. His academic record placed him in the midst of Chicago’s legal community just as he began to build practical courtroom and clinic experience.
While still in law school Hurtado took on an ABA Section of Litigation judicial internship in 2007, working for the Honorable Sebastian T. Patti. The following year he served as a Supreme Court Rule 711 lawyer at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic, representing clients under court supervision and gaining early exposure to client advocacy and trial preparation.
After earning his law degree, Hurtado joined Gil & Cruz in 2008 as an associate lawyer. He moved on in 2011 to Douglas B. Warlick and Associates, continuing in associate roles through that period. Those years in firm settings gave him sustained experience in day-to-day litigation practice and client representation.
In 2015 he began practicing under his own name at the Law Office of Otto S. Hurtado. He built that practice from his Geneva office, handling matters for clients across the state. Over time he has managed both casework and the operational demands of running a small law office.
Hurtado’s career shows a steady progression from clinic and internship work to associate positions and then into independent practice. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and has worked in both public-facing clinic roles and private firm settings. His background combines courtroom exposure early on with several years of practice in firm environments before opening his own office.
He maintains a Geneva office and conducts his practice in Illinois, where he represents clients and manages their legal matters in his private practice.
