About Orlando
Orlando Sheppard built a foundation in the classroom before he built a practice. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Central Florida in 2012 after beginning his undergraduate studies in 2008. He then earned a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law in 2015. He returned to school again and completed an MBA at the University of Florida in 2018, having begun that program in 2016.
Those credentials led him quickly into practice. By 2017 he had helped start a firm, becoming a partner and co-founder of Burns Sheppard Favors. The firm name reflects the alliance he helped create and the practical work he has handled since then. He is admitted to practice in both Florida and Maryland and has spent his career on matters that bring together litigation, client counseling and case development.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in court and deliberate in preparation. He has taken roles that reach beyond casework. He served as chair of the Law Student Mentorship Committee for the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association from 2019 to 2020. That role connected him to local law students and to organized bar efforts around mentoring and professional development. He also maintains active membership in professional groups that network lawyers across practice areas.
His practice is organized around personal injury work, and the firm where he is a partner identifies itself as a personal injury practice. That has meant work on claims arising from motor vehicle crashes, premises incidents and other civil tort matters. He handles case intake, develops claims and represents clients through settlement negotiations and court filings. He brings business training from his MBA to the administrative side of running a law practice, overseeing client intake processes and participating in firm strategy.
People who work with him say he combines legal training with attention to everyday details that matter in case management: gathering records, coordinating experts and keeping clients informed. He splits time between client-facing tasks and the operational responsibilities that come with partnership in a small firm.
He continues to practice at Burns Sheppard Favors Personal Injury Lawyers, where his current work centers on civil personal injury matters and related litigation.
