About Nyasha A.

Nyasha A. West built her academic foundation at Howard University. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing in 1997 and returned to Howard for law school, receiving her J.D. in 2005. The combination of business training and legal education shaped an approach that balances practical concerns with legal analysis.

After law school she moved into private practice. By 2009 she was managing partner at West Law Office, LLC, the firm she leads today. The title reflects both seniority and administrative responsibility. It also signals that she has overseen the firm’s development for more than a decade.

Her bar credentials include admission to practice in Maryland and the ability to appear before the D.C. Circuit. Those admissions allow her to handle matters at the state level in Maryland and engage in federal appellate work where appropriate. She maintains an active presence in the legal settings tied to those jurisdictions.

Outside the courtroom she remains engaged with the profession. She is a member of the Alliance of Black Women Lawyers and the Maryland State Bar Association. Those memberships place her in professional networks that cover continuing legal education, peer discussions, and community initiatives.

Colleagues describe her as steady and pragmatic in approach. She manages client matters through West Law Office, LLC and handles the administrative duties that come with running a small firm. Her practice has evolved alongside the firm. She brings together her business background and legal training in serving clients.

Her current practice is conducted through West Law Office, LLC, where she represents clients in matters in Maryland and before the D.C. Circuit.
