About Nicole
Nicole Joseph studied at Oberlin College, earning a B.A. in 1999. She then attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, completing her J.D. in 2004. Her academic path combined liberal arts training with three years of legal study in Baltimore. Those years shaped an interest in public-interest law and the mechanics of administrative systems.
After law school she began her legal career at Disability Rights Maryland in 2004. There she worked on matters affecting people with disabilities across the state. Her early work involved representing individuals in administrative settings and engaging in advocacy on systemic issues that affect access to services. That period provided direct courtroom and administrative experience and exposed her to the intersection of law and public policy.
Over time Joseph translated that public-interest background into private practice. She opened the Law Office of Nicole Joseph and built a practice handling disability-related legal matters in Maryland. Her work has included representing clients before state agencies and in other forums where disability benefits, services, accommodations, and civil rights are at issue. She draws on her earlier advocacy experience when advising clients and when pursuing remedies through administrative appeals and other proceedings.
Joseph maintains membership in the Maryland State Bar Association. She participates in the association as a member and keeps current on developments in state law that affect clients with disabilities. That membership complements her hands-on case work and helps her follow shifts in regulations and judicial decisions that affect administrative appeals and benefit programs.
Her practice approach is practical and case-oriented. She evaluates administrative records, prepares appeals, and works with clients to identify available procedural steps. She represents individuals in matters that require navigating agency procedures as well as claims that implicate state and federal disability protections. Colleagues and clients see her as a lawyer who brings public-interest experience into everyday casework.
Joseph continues to practice in Maryland through the Law Office of Nicole Joseph. Her current practice focuses on disability-related legal issues and related administrative proceedings in Maryland.
