About Nicole Buggs
Nicole Buggs Anthony earned her law degree from Southern University Law Center in 2007 after completing two undergraduate programs. She holds a B.S. from Florida Atlantic University, awarded in 1997, and a second B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earned in 2003. That academic path gave her both breadth and local ties that would shape the early years of her legal work.
After law school she entered practice in Louisiana. Over time she became admitted to practice in Louisiana and gained admission to the Federal Circuit. Those credentials have allowed her to handle matters that arise in state courts and disputes that travel through the federal appellate system. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical; she combines courtroom preparation with attention to procedural detail.
Anthony has remained active in professional circles since the late 2000s. She joined the Louis A. Martinet Society in 2008. The following year she added membership in the American Inns of Court and the American Bar Association, both beginning in 2010. She became a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association in 2011 and has retained those affiliations. Her involvement in these groups has included regular attendance at meetings and events, and she has used those forums to maintain contacts across the Louisiana legal community.
Her practice has touched on matters that require navigation of both trial and appellate procedures. That dual exposure is a practical advantage for clients whose cases may proceed through different court levels. Anthony balances courtroom responsibilities with the preparation of briefs and filings required for appellate review. She is known for a steady procedural hand rather than for public-facing legal commentary.
Outside of formal memberships she has participated in bar-related programming and local legal events. Those activities reflect a steady engagement with the professional institutions that support practicing lawyers in the region. She continues to practice law in Louisiana and in matters that involve the Federal Circuit. Her current practice is in Louisiana and includes work before the Federal Circuit.
