About Nicholas

Nicholas Wheeler entered law school after completing an English degree at Indiana University–Purdue University at Fort Wayne in 2012. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2015. Those academic years shaped his early approach to client work and courtroom procedure.

He opened his own practice in 2015, practicing under The Law Office of Nick Wheeler. That initial stretch in private practice gave him direct exposure to client intake, case management and courtroom appearances. In 2016 he joined the Allen County Public Defender’s Office, where he represented clients in criminal proceedings and gained experience in trial advocacy and plea negotiations.

After his time in public defense he returned to private practice as an associate. In 2018 he worked at The Law Office of Tracey Rosswurm. He later took a position in 2021 as an associate at Truitt Law Offices. Those roles broadened his courtroom experience and exposed him to a wider variety of casework in Indiana courts. Along the way he maintained memberships in local and state bar organizations, joining both the Allen County Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association in 2015.

Wheeler holds a license to practice law in Indiana issued by the Indiana Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and has been active in the local legal community since his bar licensing. His resume reflects movement between public and private roles, the kind of path that builds familiarity with both prosecution and defense positions in state matters.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and steady in the courtroom. He has balanced solo practice responsibilities with work at small firms and in a county public defender’s office. That variety has led him to handle client matters at different stages, from initial appearances through trial preparation.

Today he is associated with The Law Office of Tracey Rosswurm. He remains a member of the Allen County and Indiana State bar associations. He currently practices in Indiana state courts, where his work centers on client representation and courtroom advocacy.
