About Nicholas M
Nicholas M Wooldridge built his legal foundation through a mix of study and steady courtroom work. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Nevada-Reno in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2003. Those years set the stage for a career centered on criminal litigation and trial practice.
He moved into private practice after law school and by 2006 was working at the Bukh Law Office. There he handled a variety of criminal matters and developed experience in pretrial work, motions practice and hearings. The work was often hands-on. He learned to manage cases from intake through trial.
Wooldridge formed LV Criminal Defense in 2015. He founded the practice to concentrate on criminal defense at the state and federal levels. Since opening the firm he has taken cases in varied criminal dockets, representing clients in arraignment hearings, plea negotiations and jury trials. The firm name signals the practice’s primary orientation toward defense work.
He is admitted to practice in Nevada and New York. His professional affiliations include membership in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2014 and the National Trial Lawyers since 2015. He also holds a connection to the Federal Bar Association’s Southern District of New York. For a period he was involved with the Nevada Lawyer for Criminal Justice organization.
Wooldridge’s academic background in Spanish and political science complements his courtroom practice. The study of language and institutions informs how he prepares witness examinations and frames legal arguments. He brings that combination of academic training and practical experience to the clients who come to his office.
Colleagues and court officials have encountered him in criminal dockets across state and federal courts. His career shows a steady focus on defense work, moving from staff lawyer to firm founder while maintaining memberships in national and regional legal organizations. He continues to handle the procedural and substantive aspects of criminal cases.
He currently operates LV Criminal Defense, practicing criminal defense in Nevada and New York and handling matters in both state and federal courts. His practice concentrates on defending clients charged with criminal offenses in those jurisdictions.
