About Nicholas
Nicholas Dollenmaier earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2017. He completed his undergraduate studies at Western Illinois University, graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in economics. Those years provided a foundation in both analytical reasoning and the procedural demands of legal practice.
He began his legal career at Lavelle Law, Ltd., joining the firm as a law clerk in 2016 while finishing law school. The clerkship gave him hands-on exposure to court filings, client intake, and the day-to-day work of a small firm. After passing the bar and completing his degree, he moved into an associate role at Lavelle Law in 2017. He spent several years there handling case preparation and courtroom matters alongside more senior attorneys.
In 2022 he became a partner at Vito & Dollenmaier Law. The change marked a shift from a supporting role to shared leadership. As partner, he has taken on responsibilities that include supervising case teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing aspects of firm operations. His progression from clerk to associate to partner tracks a steady expansion of responsibility.
Over the course of his career he has worked through the practical details of litigation, filings and hearings, and client communications. Those experiences have shaped how he approaches a file: careful attention to deadlines, plainspoken explanations for clients, and thorough preparation for hearings. He has handled matters in Illinois courts and is admitted to practice in the state. Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical; clients have found his explanations clear.
Today he is based at Vito & Dollenmaier Law, where he continues his practice in Illinois. He maintains an active role in the firm’s daily work and in supervising case progress. He currently practices law at Vito & Dollenmaier Law, working on matters for clients in Illinois.
