About Nicholas
Nicholas David began his legal path in Kansas and has built a practice anchored in the state where he trained. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2014. That academic foundation led quickly to practical work in the local courts.
While still completing his studies, David worked in the Shawnee County District Lawyer's Office in 2013. The experience placed him inside courthouse routines and early courtroom work. It also offered a clear view of how public defenders and prosecutors operate day to day.
In 2014 he opened The David Law Office LLC. He has maintained that practice since then. His firm operates from offices identified as The David Law Office and The David Law Office - Topeka. Over time his caseload has reflected steady work in criminal matters and related proceedings in Kansas state courts.
David belongs to several professional organizations that reflect his work in criminal defense and local bar life. He is a member of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Kansas Bar Association, and the 3rd Judicial District Criminal Defense Bar. These memberships keep him connected to courtroom developments and to other lawyers handling similar matters across the district.
Colleagues and clients describe David as pragmatic in the courtroom. He approaches cases with an eye for procedure and evidence. He prepares for hearings and trials with attention to local rules and courtroom practice. He has handled pretrial work, motions practice and trials in state court. His everyday work includes client interviews, plea negotiations, and court appearances.
Outside the courtroom, David manages the operational side of a small firm. That involves client intake, case management and coordination with investigators or experts when cases require additional resources. Running an office in Topeka has kept him regularly present in the county where many of his matters arise.
He practices law in Kansas and remains active in the legal community through his bar memberships and district bar involvement. He currently handles criminal defense matters from his Topeka offices.
