About Nicholas
Nicholas Cronauer earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2011. He completed his legal education at a time when the profession was adjusting to new technological and economic pressures. The degree set the stage for a practice that crosses state lines and legal traditions.
After law school Cronauer gained admission to practice in both Illinois and Utah. Those dual admissions have shaped how he approaches cases. He has worked on matters that require familiarity with the procedural rules and court systems of two different jurisdictions. That experience has informed the way he prepares filings and advises clients on strategy.
Cronauer practices at Cronauer Law. He handles matters for individuals and businesses who need counsel in the states where he is licensed. His work often involves drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and appearing in court. He represents clients in contested proceedings and in transactional settings, balancing litigation preparation with efforts to resolve disputes outside the courtroom when appropriate.
His training at Valparaiso provided a foundation in core areas of law. Over the years he has put that training to practical use across a range of cases. Colleagues describe him as methodical and attentive to procedural detail. Clients who have worked with him have noted his willingness to explain steps in plain terms and to outline potential outcomes clearly. He tends to favor careful preparation and organized case files, which helps when cases involve parties or rules from different states.
Outside the office Cronauer keeps up with developments in state law that affect his practice. He monitors changes to court rules and statutory updates in both Utah and Illinois, and he adjusts case strategies when necessary. He also maintains relationships with local counsel when matters require additional jurisdictional insight. He currently focuses on representing individuals and businesses in legal matters across Utah and Illinois.
