About Nenye
Nenye Uche earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2004. He moved from Madison into roles that exposed him to both trial and appellate work early in his career. Those formative years shaped a practice built on courtroom experience and an understanding of how judges, juries and litigation strategy intersect.
While still in law school, Uche served as a judicial extern to Justice Louis Butler of the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2006. The placement offered direct exposure to appellate decision-making and legal drafting at the state’s highest level. A year later he joined the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as an assistant state’s lawyer and criminal prosecutor. There he handled criminal matters in one of the busiest jurisdictions in the country and gained substantial trial experience.
Uche transitioned into private practice after his time in public service. He established a practice presence under the name Uche Litigation in Illinois and has been active in the Chicago legal community since 2008. He holds memberships in both the Chicago Bar Association and the Cook County Bar Association, affiliations he has maintained for years. Those ties reflect long-standing engagement with local bar activities and professional networks in the region.
Colleagues and clients describe Uche as methodical in his preparation and direct in court. His background blends prosecutorial trial work and appellate observation, which informs how he evaluates evidence, prepares witnesses and frames legal arguments. He handles matters that require litigation experience and prefers to approach each case with a clear plan for the courtroom and the negotiation table.
He practices in Illinois and maintains an office operating as Uche Litigation. He continues to appear in state courts and remains involved in bar activities in Chicago and Cook County. He currently focuses his practice on litigation in Illinois, representing clients in state court matters through his work at Uche Litigation.
