About Nathaniel
Nathaniel Elmore grew up interested in how people think and speak. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2010. He returned to the same campus to study law and received his J.D. in 2014.
His legal career began while still in law school. In 2014 he worked as an extern at the Williamson County Public Defender’s Office. That experience offered early courtroom exposure and client contact. A year later he set up a solo practice. The solo period was brief but formative; it gave him early responsibility for managing cases and running a practice.
In 2016 he joined Stange Law Office as an associate lawyer. The position placed him in a different environment from solo work. He worked on matters alongside other attorneys and handled a steady caseload. In 2018 he returned to independent practice under the name Nathaniel A. Elmore, Lawyer at Law. The next year he took a position at Swanson and Sackett PC as a lawyer, where he added firm-based practice to his resume.
By 2022 he again took on ownership responsibilities and is listed as owner of Nathaniel A. Elmore Lawyer at Law PC. His path shows alternating stretches of private firm work and independent practice. He has maintained an active membership in the Illinois State Bar since 2014, and he belongs to the Madison County Bar Association and the Tricity Bar Association.
Colleagues describe him as someone who has worn several hats: solo practitioner, associate, firm lawyer and business owner. Those roles mean he understands both the business side of running a law office and the daily demands of client work. His early public defender work gave him hands-on courtroom exposure. His time in firms brought experience in collaborative case management and client intake.
Over time his career has stayed rooted in Illinois. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and participates in local bar organizations. He maintains an office under the Nathaniel A. Elmore Lawyer at Law PC name and continues to represent clients in the state. His current practice handles matters in Illinois.
