About Nathan

Nathan Wadlinger built a career that crosses teaching and tax practice. He began in accounting and moved into tax law after earning a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2012. He added an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2016. Before law school he completed both a B.S. and an M.S. in Accounting at the University of Florida in 2008.

His early professional years were spent in public accounting. In 2008 he joined EY as a tax staff accountant. That role put him on client engagements and in the detail of returns and compliance work. The experience informed his later shift toward teaching and academic roles, while he continued to work in tax services.

Wadlinger entered the academic world in 2014 as an assistant professor at Indian River State College. His courses have generally covered accounting and taxation, and his classroom work has intersected with practical tax practice. He served as an instructor at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg in 2016 and later took a position as a tax services staff member at Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs in 2018.

He expanded his teaching portfolio at Florida State University in 2018 where he was an assistant lecturer in taxation at the College of Business. That role involved course development and classroom instruction at the undergraduate level. By 2021 he had moved to the University of Central Florida, where he holds a lecturer appointment in accounting at the College of Business.

Wadlinger is a member of the Florida State Bar, listed as a member since 2013. His combined background in accounting and law shapes how he approaches tax questions in the classroom and in practice. Students and colleagues see a professional who shifts between theoretical tax rules and the everyday mechanics of compliance.

He has balanced academic responsibilities with roles in tax services and public accounting. That mix gives him repeated experience preparing returns, advising on tax positions, and teaching tax principles to students who plan careers in accounting, law, or finance.

He currently teaches at the University of Central Florida College of Business and handles matters that involve tax education, tax compliance, and accounting instruction.
