About Nathan R
Nathan R Goin earned his J.D. from Willamette University in 2008 and is licensed to practice in Oregon. Before law school he worked inside the insurance industry, a period that shaped the practical side of his legal work. He also holds an Oregon Claims Examiner Certification from the Oregon Workers Compensation Institute, LLC, a credential that speaks to his familiarity with the technical aspects of claims handling.
His career mixes insurance-side experience and courtroom work. In 2005 he served as a senior workers compensation claims adjuster at Wausau Insurance. After law school he joined Tyler Smith & Associates as an associate lawyer in 2011. Two years later he moved to Reinisch Wilson Weier PC, where he worked as a senior trial lawyer beginning in 2013. In 2020 he was listed as a trial lawyer with Colin Rockey Hacket Law. He took on a leadership role in 2021 as the managing lawyer at Goin Law Group LLC.
That progression informs how he approaches cases. Time as a claims adjuster gave him an understanding of the decisions insurers make and the evidence they rely on. Years in trial work followed, where he handled contested hearings and civil litigation matters. The mix of behind-the-scenes claims experience and courtroom practice is a recurring theme in his record.
Goin has been active in professional circles. He has been a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association since 2020. He also maintains an additional professional membership that dates from 2011. These affiliations have kept him connected to developments in trial practice and workers’ compensation law in Oregon.
At Goin Law Group LLC he serves as the managing lawyer, overseeing the firm’s operations while continuing to handle litigation. Colleagues and clients see a practitioner who is comfortable both negotiating with insurance representatives and preparing cases for hearing. He works to present medical records, deposition testimony and legal arguments in ways that judges and hearing officers can assess directly. His practice centers on workers' compensation and trial litigation.
