About Naoki

Naoki Sekiya is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Sekiya is the founder of Sekiya Law Office, a law firm located in Torrance, California. He has been practicing law for over 22 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.

Mr. Sekiya earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated in 2004. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Chuo University in Tokyo, Japan, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1995. During his time at McGeorge School of Law, he participated in the Immigration Clinic program, gaining practical experience in immigration law.

Mr. Sekiya concentrates his practice in the areas of immigration and nationality law, including asylum, citizenship, deportation defense, family visas, green cards, immigration appeals, investment visas, marriage and fiancé(e) visas, student visas, visitor visas, and work visas. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving various immigration issues, encompassing all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout his career, Mr. Sekiya has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at the Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel in Glendale, California, and the Law Offices of Douglas M. Lehrman in Sacramento, California.

Mr. Sekiya is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has been recognized with the Client's Choice award on Avvo in 2024. He is also a certified specialist in immigration and nationality law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Sekiya is fluent in English and Japanese, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
