About Nancy Baum
Nancy Baum Delain built her law career through steady progression and a clear track record of credentialing. She earned her J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2003 after earlier legal studies at New England Law | Boston in 1999. Those academic steps set the stage for a practice that spans both state and federal practice areas.
She began practicing at Delain Law Office in 2004. A year later she took on the role of managing member. The move from associate-level work to firm management happened quickly, and she has overseen the firm’s operations and client work since 2005. Her responsibilities have included case oversight and management of the firm’s legal services.
Delain is a registered patent lawyer at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. That registration enables her to represent clients in patent prosecution and other PTO matters. In addition to her USPTO registration, she is admitted to the bar in New York and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. These admissions reflect a practice that operates across trial, administrative, and appellate forums.
She has maintained professional ties to the state bar since early in her career. Delain has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 2002. That affiliation places her among peers who practice across the state and federal systems and provides access to continuing legal education and professional resources.
Colleagues describe her work as detailed and procedural. She handles the technical requirements of patent filings and the procedural demands of federal practice. Her combined registrations and admissions allow her to move between patent office proceedings and federal courts on behalf of clients when matters require that path.
Delain’s firm, Delain Law Office, PLLC, serves clients who need representation in patent and federal matters. She has overseen the firm from its early years and continues to manage its daily operations. She practices as an attorney and as the firm’s managing member, offering clients representation that draws on USPTO registration and federal court admissions.
As of 2026 Nancy Baum Delain concentrates her practice on patent law and matters requiring admission to federal courts and the Patent and Trademark Office.
