About Najmeh
Najmeh Mahmoudjafari built her legal foundation in Kansas City. She earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Those degrees framed an early interest in immigration and public interest work that shows through in her career choices.
Her first practical experiences came during law school and the years before it. In 2007 she worked as an immigration law intern at Austin & Ferguson LLC. She spent a summer in 2009 interning on immigration rights and racial justice issues with the American Civil Liberties Union. In 2011 she served as a judicial intern at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. Those roles gave her exposure to appellate procedure and civil rights questions early on.
Mahmoudjafari continued gaining courtroom and firm experience during law school. She was a 1L summer associate at Stinson Leonard Street LLP in 2012 and returned to Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP as a 2L summer associate in 2013. That same year she worked as a judicial intern at the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. The mix of firm practice and judicial internships provided a sustained look at litigation and federal court processes.
After law school she joined Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP as a litigation lawyer in 2014. There she worked on litigation matters and gained experience in procedural and evidentiary practices. The litigation post followed several years of internships and summer work that tied courtroom procedure to client advocacy.
In 2016 Mahmoudjafari founded ImmigraTrust Law and took on the role of lead immigration lawyer. She established the firm to concentrate her practice on immigration matters. Her professional affiliations reflect that direction. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2016 and has maintained a membership listed as "Iranian Lawyer" since 2017.
Her path blends public interest internship experience, judicial exposure, firm-based litigation and an independent immigration practice. She has combined courtroom familiarity with immigration work in private practice. She now leads ImmigraTrust Law and focuses her practice on immigration law.
