About Naja
Naja Burroughs began an unconventional path to the law. She earned a B.A. in political science from Mercer University in 2008, then pursued health sciences studies at The George Washington University, earning a certificate in 2009. She later returned to school for a J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, graduating in 2019.
Before law school, Burroughs spent several years in laboratory work. She served as a medical laboratory specialist in the U.S. Army in 2008 and worked as a laboratory technician at the Yerkes Primate Center in 2016. Those roles exposed her to technical workflows and procedures. She carried that scientific background into legal work, where attention to evidence and detail matters.
Her legal career began in support roles. In 2017 she worked as a legal assistant at King Wade, PLLC while preparing for law school and bar exams. After earning her degree, Burroughs joined Kenny Leigh & Associates as an associate lawyer in 2020. In 2022 she moved to Family Matters Law Group as an associate, where she handled matters arising in family court. Later that year she took a lawyer position at Madison Law, PLLC. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and maintains an active status.
Colleagues describe her work style as methodical. Her record shows steady role changes rather than high-profile courtroom battles. The combination of laboratory and legal experience gives her a practical vantage on cases that involve medical records, testing protocols, or technical documentation. She has handled client interviews, case preparation, filings, and courtroom procedures at different stages of practice.
Burroughs’s background spans public service, science and private practice. The U.S. Army experience adds an element of institutional discipline. Her time in research environments taught her how to interpret technical reports and translate them for nontechnical audiences. In family law settings she has worked on domestic relations files and related court processes.
She currently practices at Madison Law, PLLC. Her practice draws on both her legal training and earlier laboratory work, bringing a detail-oriented approach to client files. She concentrates her current practice on matters handled through Madison Law, PLLC.
