About Nahal

Nahal Kazemi built a legal foundation at Harvard, earning a J.D. in 2004 and an undergraduate degree in political science and government. Her academic record set a clear path into complex legal work that has crossed private, public and academic settings.

She began her career in private practice at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in 2004, entering a large firm environment early on. Five years later she took a position in the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer, a role that broadened her perspective on international and governmental issues. After time in public service she returned to corporate and firm-side practice, serving as in-house counsel for General Procurement, Inc. in 2017 and then joining Keller Anderle LLP as senior counsel in 2018. In 2020 she added a part-time adjunct professorship at Chapman University School of Law to her resume.

Kazemi holds admissions across multiple state and federal jurisdictions. She is licensed in California and New York and appears in federal courts including the Central District of California and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Her appellate admissions include the Second and Ninth Circuits. Those credentials allow her to handle matters that move between trial and appellate forums and between state and federal systems.

Her professional affiliations reflect both local and international interests. She is active in the Orange County Bar Association’s Business Litigation Section and is involved with the Iranian American Bar Association’s Orange County chapter. She also maintains membership in the Pacific Council on International Policy. Those memberships mirror the range of her work, which has touched business disputes, federal litigation and issues with an international component.

Colleagues describe Kazemi as a lawyer who shifts comfortably between settings: courtroom preparation, in-house commercial work and the policy environment of government service. She has taught law students while continuing practice, a sign of interest in both mentoring and staying current on legal developments. Her career path shows recurring moves between private practice, corporate counsel roles and public service, rather than a single linear trajectory.

She currently practices at Keller Anderle LLP, where her work centers on business litigation and federal-court matters.
