Nabiel C. Ahmed is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Ahmed is the founder and owner of the Law Office of Nabiel C. Ahmed, a firm dedicated exclusively to criminal defense cases. The office is located at 1305 Franklin Street, Suite 411, Oakland, CA 94612. He has been practicing law for over 19 years, serving clients throughout the Oakland area and the broader Bay Area.
Mr. Ahmed earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), graduating in 2006. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2003. During his time at UC Hastings, he gained practical experience by working as a graduate law clerk at the Contra Costa County Public Defender’s Office in 2007.
Mr. Ahmed concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, including DUI defense, domestic violence, and white-collar crimes. He represents individuals in matters involving criminal appeals, drug crimes, expungement, fraud, gun crimes, internet crimes, sex crimes, theft, and violent crimes. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ahmed has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a deputy public defender at the Kern County Public Defender’s Office from 2007 to 2008, representing clients in felony and misdemeanor cases.
Mr. Ahmed is an active member of the Alameda County Bar Association, having been a member since 2008. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers, being selected to the Rising Stars list in 2015 and 2016, and to the Super Lawyers list in 2020, 2024, and 2025. He is also a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association. Mr. Ahmed is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the Bay Area effectively.
