About Myron

Myron Tucker attended Western State University College of Law beginning in 1976 and earned his J.D. in 1980. He moved from student life into a profession that would keep him in courtrooms and conference rooms for decades. His legal education provided a foundation in both procedural and substantive work that shaped a career in bankruptcy law.

Early in his practice, Tucker established himself in California. He is admitted to practice in the state and is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Over the years he has handled matters in state and federal forums. That combination of jurisdictions has allowed him to shift between trial-level work and appellate questions when cases required a higher review.

Tucker’s career has centered on insolvency and consumer bankruptcy matters. He has represented debtors and creditors at different stages of proceedings, and he has experience in contested hearings, plan confirmations, and adversary proceedings. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and concise in oral argument. He has worked on matters that involve both individual consumer filings and business reorganizations, often balancing practical settlement efforts with formal litigation when necessary.

He has been active in professional organizations that concentrate on bankruptcy. He joined the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum in 2012 and has taken part in its local seminars and meetings. He became a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers in 2014 and joined the American Bankruptcy Institute in 2015. These memberships have been a steady source of continuing education and peer interaction. They have also provided regular forums for discussing changes in bankruptcy law and practice.

Today Tucker is based at OPTD LAW. His practice makes use of his appellate admission when issues reach the Ninth Circuit, and it continues to involve day-to-day bankruptcy practice in California courts. He handles filings, hearings, and negotiations, and he prepares appellate briefs when cases raise procedural or substantive questions that merit further review. He operates a practice that combines courtroom work with advisory tasks for clients facing financial distress.

After more than four decades in practice, Tucker continues to represent clients in both consumer and business bankruptcy matters and to accept cases that require federal appellate experience. He currently concentrates his practice on consumer and business bankruptcy matters and related federal appellate work.
