About Ms. Nina M
Ms. Nina M Forcier built a steady legal path after a pair of Midwestern educations. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999 and completed her law degree at Drake University Law School in 2007. Those years shaped a pragmatic approach to client work and courtroom procedure.
Admitted to practice in Iowa in 2007, Forcier also holds admission in the Sac and Fox Tribe in the Mississippi in Iowa. She started her legal career the year she earned her J.D., joining the Iowa State Bar Association and beginning to take on cases across the state. Over time she developed a practice that mixes courtroom work and negotiated resolutions.
Criminal defense figures prominently in her professional life. She is a member of Black Hawk County Criminal Defense and of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, organizations she joined in 2015 and 2014, respectively. Those memberships reflect sustained involvement in defense practice and an emphasis on trial preparedness and client advocacy. At the same time, her affiliation with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals indicates experience with alternative dispute processes that keep parties out of court when appropriate.
Her professional network extends through several national and state groups. She joined the American Bar Association in 2012 and the Iowa Association for Justice in 2011. Her continuous membership in the Iowa State Bar Association dates back to 2007. These associations provide continuing legal education, peer contact, and forums for staying current on evolving rules and procedures.
Forcier maintains an office at 405 Jefferson Street. From that base she accepts matters in state court and in the tribal jurisdiction where she is admitted. Her work blends direct representation in contested matters with efforts to resolve disputes through collaborative techniques when those options suit the client and the case.
Colleagues describe her as steady and pragmatic; clients note thorough preparation. She balances trial work against negotiated solutions and chooses the path that most closely aligns with a client’s goals and the realities of each case. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense and collaborative legal matters in Iowa and before the Sac and Fox Tribe in the Mississippi in Iowa.
