About Ms. Lee Ann

Ms. Lee Ann Archer has built a long career in appellate law grounded in formal training and courtroom experience. She earned a B.A. from Rice University in 1976 and took her law degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1982, where she completed the civil law curriculum. That education provided a foundation for work in Louisiana’s mixed civil and common law environment and for appellate practice across the region.

Her early legal work included a clerkship at the Louisiana Supreme Court for Chief Justice John A. Dixon in 1985. The clerkship exposed her to the mechanics of opinion writing and the internal deliberations of a state high court. After the clerkship she joined the New Orleans firm Barham and Arceneaux in 1986, where she continued to develop courtroom and brief-writing skills in both trial- and appellate-level matters.

In 1992 she established the Appellate Law Office of Lee Ann Archer, APLC. That move formalized a practice concentrated on appeals, post-trial motions, and federal appellate filings. Over the following years she has filed briefs and appeared in arguments in Louisiana state appeals and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Her work includes research, brief drafting, and oral advocacy before panels of judges.

Beyond courtroom duties, Archer maintains professional connections through local bar groups. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice. Those memberships keep her engaged with developments in state procedure and appellate standards. She also maintains the necessary credentials to appear in Louisiana courts and before the Fifth Circuit.

Today she practices under the name Lee Ann Archer, APLC. Her office handles appeals and related post-trial matters for clients from New Orleans and elsewhere in the state. She continues to prepare briefs and present oral argument in both state appellate courts and the Fifth Circuit, concentrating her daily work on appellate litigation in Louisiana and federal appeals before the Fifth Circuit.
