About Mr. Thomas Eric
Mr. Thomas Eric Ost built a legal education that spans both law and social science. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 1980. He continued his studies at Roosevelt University, completing a masters-level paralegal program in 1985, and the same year he received his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
His early years in the profession were steady and practical. In 1988 he worked as an associate lawyer at Hyatt Legal Services. The following year he joined the DuPage Public Defender’s office as a Senior Assistant Public Defender. Across the 1990s and into the 2000s he maintained ties to professional organizations. He has been a member of the Chicago Bar Association since 1988 and joined the American Bar Association the same year. He became a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Illinois State Bar Association in 1992. He also holds membership in the Will County Bar Association, a connection that dates to 2009 and continues today. A brief association with the DuPage County Bar Association is also on his record for 1989.
In 2009 he established his own practice, operating as Thomas Eric Ost, Lawyer at Law. As owner and primary lawyer he has handled the administrative and legal tasks required to run a small firm. That work includes meeting with clients, preparing cases, and managing the daily operations of his office. The firm name appears on local listings and serves as the primary vehicle for his private practice work.
Over four decades his path has moved from dual undergraduate degrees into paralegal studies and then into a J.D., followed by public defense and private practice.
