About Mr. Rodney G.

Mr. Rodney G. Hasty built his legal foundation in North Carolina. He earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice from North Carolina State University in 1987 and completed his J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 1992. Those years established the training that would shape the next stages of his career.

Early in his career he entered public service. In 1995 he served as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Buncombe County District Lawyer's Office. That position placed him in the courtroom and in day-to-day case work for the office. The experience gave him a direct view of prosecutorial practice and the mechanics of trial preparation.

After several years in public practice he moved into private practice. In 2009 he joined Long, Parker, Warren, Anderson & Payne, P.A. as a lawyer. At the firm he became part of a team handling litigation and related legal tasks. His work at the firm has involved courtroom appearances, motion practice, and client counseling in contested matters.

His education and early public work inform how he approaches cases. He trained in a law school known for its focus on practical skills and returned to work that required steady attention to procedure and deadlines. Colleagues describe his style as methodical. He tends to prefer clear preparation and direct presentation of arguments over rhetorical flourish.

Clients and fellow lawyers have noted that he brings an unhurried, pragmatic approach to disputes. That comes through in trial settings and in pretrial negotiations alike. He has spent much of his career moving between courtroom responsibilities and the client-facing demands of private practice. That balance shapes the kind of legal work he handles and how he staffs matters.

Outside the courtroom he has remained connected to issues of criminal justice, a through line from his undergraduate studies. He has continued to maintain an active caseload at the firm and to handle the procedural work that litigation requires. As of 2026 he practices at Long, Parker, Warren, Anderson & Payne, P.A., where his current practice focuses on litigation and courtroom representation.
