About Mr. Robert A.

Mr. Robert A. Chappell attended Washington University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 1975 after beginning his studies in 1972. His time at Washington University placed him among a cohort of students navigating a changing legal landscape in the 1970s. He completed his formal legal education and moved into practice as the decade closed.

He began practicing law in the mid-1970s. Over the following decades he worked on a broad range of legal matters. He has experience in courtroom proceedings, client counseling, document drafting and negotiation. Those practical tasks have defined much of his day-to-day work. Colleagues and clients have relied on him on matters that required steady legal judgment and attention to detail.

Chappell spent a significant portion of his career at Robinson & Henry, P.C. There he worked alongside other lawyers on matters that brought together transactional and litigated work. His time at the firm spans many of the firm’s active years. He has been part of the firm’s efforts to resolve disputes, prepare agreements, and represent client interests in various forums.

His expertise reflects decades of practice. He is experienced in analyzing legal problems, presenting arguments in hearings, and managing case preparation. He has prepared pleadings, taken and defended depositions, and negotiated settlements. He has also handled client intake and case strategy, tasks that often fall to senior attorneys with long-term practice experience.

Throughout his career Chappell has adapted to changes in the law and in legal practice. He has witnessed changes to courtroom procedure, to technology used in case management, and to client expectations. That perspective informs how he approaches new matters. He tends to combine a practical eye for resolving issues with an understanding of the procedural steps necessary to get there.

As of 2026 he is a lawyer at Robinson & Henry, P.C. He continues to take on legal work for individual and business clients and to handle matters that arise in both transactional and contested settings. He currently practices at Robinson & Henry, P.C., where his work centers on representing clients in a variety of civil legal matters.
