About Mr. Robert A Beattey
Dr. Robert A — Beattey Jr. is a clinical psychologist and attorney based in New York City. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 2000. He also holds a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from the City University of New York - John Jay College of Criminal Justice, completed in 2012. A Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University, obtained in 1996. Dr. Beattey is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Washington. His bar admissions include the U.S. Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Washington, Southern District of Ohio, and Northern District of Ohio. He is also a licensed clinical psychologist in New York, California, and Washington — Professionally, Dr. Beattey has held several significant positions. He served as Chief of Psychology and Co-Director of the Center for Brain Health at Fairfax Behavioral Health in the Pacific Northwest. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Fairfax Behavioral Health. Additionally, he has been a full-time faculty member at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and at Arizona State University. In his legal career, Dr. Beattey has experience as a local prosecutor, Legal Director of a non-profit policy organization, and civil litigator. He has been involved with the Ohio State Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association. He also served as Chair of the Judicial Evaluation Committee for the Q-Law Bar Association from 2010 to 2012. Dr. Beattey is board-certified in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He has authored peer-reviewed studies published in clinical and public policy journals and co-edited "The Ethical Practice of Forensic Psychology: A Casebook" published by Oxford University Press. He is affiliated with the American Psychological Association, the American Psychology-Law Society. The New York Academy of Sciences.
