About Mr. Loren
Mr. Loren Barr built a foundation in history before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in History from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1984 and completed his J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law in 1993. Those years shaped his approach to legal questions; they also set the stage for a long career in estate and probate matters.
His early professional record includes work at Barr & Barr Lawyers beginning in 1998. That experience placed him in the middle of estate administration, trust interpretation and probate court practice. In 2013 he joined Barr & Young Lawyers, where his practice continued to center on private client work and court-related matters. The timeline of those positions shows steady engagement in the same field rather than frequent lateral moves.
He is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law as recognized by the State Bar of California. That designation requires both testing and peer review, and it marks an additional credential beyond the J.D. He also maintains active memberships in the California Bar Association, the Contra Costa Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley. Those affiliations place him in regular contact with local practitioners and the professional rules that govern estate work in the region.
Barr’s practice involves the core tasks common to estate attorneys: drafting wills and trusts, advising on fiduciary duties, handling probate administration and preparing documents for incapacity planning. He represents executors and trustees in court and in settlement discussions. He frequently counsels families on how to structure estates to reduce administrative burdens and to clarify successor decision-making. He handles both straightforward estate plans and matters that require familiarity with trust accounting and probate procedure.
At Barr & Young Lawyers he continues to serve private clients and fiduciaries. His work is largely centered on matters that arise after death or incapacity, including trust interpretation, probate filings and related court proceedings. He currently practices estate planning, trust law and probate administration.
