About Mr. Jordan L.

Mr. Jordan L. Tandy built his academic foundation at Valparaiso University, where he completed an MBA in 2005. He went on to earn his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2007. Those two degrees — one in business and one in law — inform how he thinks about problems and how he advises clients.

After law school he entered private practice. He has worked on matters that require both legal analysis and an understanding of commercial realities. He is comfortable moving between detailed contract work and the broader strategic questions that businesses face. Colleagues describe him as methodical and precise in his legal writing, pragmatic when weighing options, and attentive to the operational side of client concerns.

Over the years Tandy has handled a range of matters. He drafts and negotiates agreements, prepares filings and court documents, and appears on behalf of clients in hearings and meetings. His background in business administration shapes his approach to client counseling. He tends to frame legal issues in terms that business people can use to make decisions. He also pays attention to the financial and logistical implications of litigation and transactions.

At Tiede Metz & Downs, P.C. he is part of a team that manages a variety of civil matters. He works alongside other attorneys at the firm on contested cases and negotiated resolutions. Within that setting he often takes on research-heavy assignments and the drafting that follows. The work requires balancing legal precedent and client priorities, and he has developed a steady process for doing that: identify the legal contours, map the practical options, and then present choices clearly to clients.

Tandy has maintained ties to the legal community through professional associations and continuing legal education. He attends seminars to stay current on court decisions and changes in practice areas relevant to his clients. He also draws on his MBA when advising on contract language, corporate structure questions, and risk assessment.

Outside the office he keeps a low public profile and focuses on client work. He currently practices at Tiede Metz & Downs, P.C., where his practice focuses on matters that draw on both his legal training and his MBA.
