About Mr. Jeffrey S.
Mr. Jeffrey S. Wittenbrink built his legal foundation at Louisiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1984 and a Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1987. He moved almost immediately into the courthouse, serving as a law clerk to the Honorable William H. Brown at the 19th Judicial District Court the same year he completed law school. That early exposure to courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making informed the practical approach he would bring to his later work.
He opened his first solo practice in 1993. The office handled an assortment of family law matters and local cases. In the early 2000s Wittenbrink shifted some of his energy toward legal services for low-income clients. In 2003 he served as supervising lawyer for both Battered Women’s Services and the Rural Legal Services program at Capital Area Legal Services Corporation. Those roles expanded his experience in domestic relations and client advocacy outside the private firm model.
Wittenbrink returned to private practice and worked with several firms over the next decade and a half. He was a family law specialist at Rowe Law Office beginning in 2007. Later he practiced with Carleton, Loraso & Hebert, LLC, where his listing as a family law specialist appears in 2016. He then became a partner in Carleton Hebert & Wittenbrink, LLC in 2017. In 2020 he re-established his own firm, listed as Wittenbrink Law Office, where he remains principal.
His credentials include board certification as a Family Law Specialist from the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. He is authorized to practice in the courts of Louisiana and has admission to the United States Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit. Those qualifications underpin a practice centered on family law matters, and they reflect steady involvement in the state bar’s family law community.
Wittenbrink has also taken leadership roles in the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Family Law Section. He served as chair from 2017 to 2019 and then as immediate past chair from 2019 to 2021. Those positions placed him in contact with policy discussions and continuing legal education efforts affecting family law practitioners across the state.
He continues to operate Wittenbrink Law Office. His current practice concentrates on family law, drawing on courtroom experience, courtroom admissions, and a board-certified specialization in family law.
