About Mr. Jeffrey R.
Mr. Jeffrey R. Davis earned his J.D. in criminal law from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1991. He studied anthropology at Youngstown State University and received his B.A. in 1986. Those academic choices set a course toward the courtroom and to work on problems that intersect law and human behavior.
His career has moved between public service and private practice. In 2000 he served as Deputy Director of the Drug Prosecution Unit and as an Assistant Prosecuting Lawyer in the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office. That role placed him on the front lines of state drug enforcement and courtroom litigation. In 2006 he served as a Special Assistant United States Lawyer in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, gaining federal prosecutorial experience. The following year he opened Davis Law Offices LLC and has run the practice since 2007.
The pattern of roles shows sustained work in criminal law, both as a prosecutor and as counsel in private practice. His time in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office involved directing drug-related prosecutions and managing cases through trial. The appointment as a Special Assistant United States Lawyer gave him exposure to federal procedures and cooperation with federal investigators and prosecutors.
Over the years he has maintained membership in professional organizations tied to criminal law. He joined the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2007 and remains a member. He also holds membership in the Mahoning County Bar Association since 2011. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with peers and developments in criminal practice in Ohio.
Today his practice operates under Davis Law Offices LLC. He handles criminal matters that draw on his prosecutorial background and federal experience. His work spans drug-related prosecutions, courtroom litigation and matters that require navigating both state and federal procedures. He also provides counsel that reflects decades of courtroom exposure on both sides of criminal cases.
Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney whose work history moves steadily through prosecution into private practice. He continues to practice law in Ohio and maintains active involvement in criminal law practice and bar associations. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and related litigation matters.
