Mr. Jeffrey Michael Donato earned a B.A. in Spanish from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1992. He then turned to the law, completing his J.D. at Touro College in 2000. Those academic foundations — a liberal arts degree and a professional law degree — shaped an approach that values clear communication and literal attention to detail.
He began his legal career in private practice. In 2001 he joined Amideo Nicholas Guzzone & Associates, P.C. as an associate. That early period offered exposure to firm life, case preparation and the day-to-day rhythms of representing clients through the procedural steps of litigation and counsel.
In 2009 he opened his own firm, Jeffrey M. Donato, Esq., P.L.L.C., and has operated as a solo practitioner and firm owner since then. Running a small practice required moving between client work, office management and the administrative tasks that keep a law office functioning. It is a role that combines legal work with practical business stewardship.
Donato is admitted to practice in New York and is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Those admissions broaden the venues where he may appear and the range of procedural rules he must master. He also holds the Empire State Counsel certification from the New York State Bar Association.
Professional associations are a steady part of his career. He has been a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association since 2001. He is also a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association. Since 2009 he has been active in the Touro Law Center Alumni Association and the Touro Law Center Alumni Council.
