About Mr. Jason E.
Mr. Jason E. Korta studied political science and philosophy at Fordham University before turning to the law. He earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Those academic years shaped the way he thinks about legal problems: analytically, with attention to principle and process.
After law school, Korta pursued admission in two of the region's major jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts. That dual admission has allowed him to work across state lines and to advise clients on matters that implicate both state and federal systems.
Korta has split his professional life between Boston and New York. He maintains offices in both cities and divides his time between them. He has experience working inside the legal environments of two different legal cultures — the New England bar and the New York bar — and he has built a practice that reflects that bi-regional activity.
Colleagues describe Korta as methodical and precise in his work. He approaches cases by first mapping the factual record, then identifying the legal levers that matter to a case’s outcome. He is comfortable in both litigation and transactional settings. In court, he pays attention to the record and to procedure. At the negotiating table, he focuses on terms that can resolve risk and move clients forward.
Outside the office, Korta’s educational background in political science and philosophy continues to inform his writing and his analysis. He tends to frame complex issues in plain terms. That habit helps clients who must make decisions under pressure. It also helps when legal matters require explanation to nonlawyers, whether they are business leaders or individual clients.
Korta’s practice has evolved as legal work has shifted across state lines and into federal forums. He handles matters that require familiarity with both Massachusetts and New York law and the interplay between them. He staffs teams that operate out of his Boston and New York locations and coordinates across offices when a case or transaction spans jurisdictions.
He is based in the Boston and New York offices and continues to accept matters arising under New York and Massachusetts law. He currently maintains a practice representing clients in matters across both states.
