About Mr. Edwin A.

Mr. Edwin A. Anderson built his legal foundation in two Ivy-adjacent classrooms and a Midwestern law school. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1988. He completed his J.D. at DePaul University in 1992 and began shaping a practice that would span state and federal courts.

His early years in practice included an associate position at David H. Dunaway & Associates in 1998. Two years later he stepped into a partnership role at Cannon & Anderson in 2000. Those positions exposed him to both courtroom work and the day-to-day management of a firm, experience he later drew on when he joined Miller & Associates, P.C. as a lawyer in 2017.

Anderson is admitted to practice in California and Tennessee and holds admission to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials have allowed him to appear at varying levels of the federal system and to advise clients on matters that intersect state and federal law. He has been a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives since 2001, a long-running affiliation that aligns him with lawyers who represent clients before administrative agencies and in appeals.

Over the years his civic and professional activities have been steady. In Knoxville he served as a director of the Rotary Club from 2006 to 2008, then as secretary from 2008 to 2013, and as club president from 2017 to 2018. He also acted as clerk for the Knoxville alumni chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International during 2009–2010. These roles reflect an ongoing presence in local civic networks and legal community groups.

Colleagues describe Anderson as methodical in case preparation and practical in courtroom settings. He has managed matters that require both administrative advocacy and litigation readiness. His practice has included representation of social security claimants, consistent with his long-term NOSSCR membership, and work arising out of state and federal jurisdictional overlap.

Today Anderson practices at Miller & Associates, P.C. He continues to represent clients in matters that reach from administrative hearings to federal filings and maintains active memberships that keep him connected to developments in social security advocacy and community service. His current practice centers on representing clients in administrative and appellate matters.
