About Mr. Douglas S.
Mr. Douglas S. Reiser earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans in 2004 after completing a B.A. in Political Science at the College of Wooster in 2000. He entered the profession at a time when public law and private practice intersected for many new attorneys. His academic foundation is reflected in an early sequence of clerkships and internships that exposed him to both municipal and private-sector legal work.
He began practical training in 2003 as a law clerk at McDonald Hopkins LPA. In 2005 he spent time in New York City as an intern in the Office of General Counsel for the City Council, and in 2006 he served as a law clerk in the Law Office of John J Burke. Those positions gave him exposure to transactional work and public-sector legal processes during the formative years of his career.
In 2007 Reiser moved into roles that mixed firm practice and corporate governance. That year he joined Wolfe Law Group as a lawyer and partner and also took on an officer and director position at Express Lien, Inc. He later became general counsel for Express Lien in 2009 and served of counsel to Wolfe Law Group beginning in 2010. In the same year he established Reiser Legal LLC and continues as principal and lawyer there.
Reiser is admitted to practice in Washington and Louisiana. He maintains memberships across several bar organizations, including the Washington State Bar Association (member since 2007), where he has taken on a leadership role in the Young Lawyers Division as Co-Chair for the CLE Committee since 2009. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 2009, the King County Bar Association since 2007, and the American Bar Association since 2010.
Outside of traditional legal credentials he holds a LEED AP credential from the U.S. Green Building Council. That accreditation signals formal training in green building standards and can inform transactions or counsel involving sustainable building practices and related regulatory frameworks.
As principal of Reiser Legal LLC since 2010, he combines prior firm experience and in-house counsel work in a private practice setting. He handles matters across his admitted jurisdictions and divides his time between Washington and Louisiana, operating his practice through Reiser Legal LLC and advising clients on matters that arise in those states.
