About Mr. David A.
Mr. David A. Lord earned his J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2006, after completing a B.A. in English Literature at the University of Montana in 2000. His legal education included training in dispute resolution. He later returned to the law school to obtain a mediation certificate, a credential that has shaped much of his professional path.
Lord began his private practice work in the early 2010s. He is listed as a lawyer and mediator at Lord Law Office, P.C. beginning in 2010. He became a member of the State Bar of Montana in 2009 and has maintained that membership since. His practice history reflects steady involvement in both courtroom and alternative dispute resolution settings.
Mediation is a notable strand of his work. The mediation certificate he earned from the University of Montana School of Law allowed him to take formal roles in settlement and neutral evaluation efforts. He has volunteered at the Missoula Family Law Self-Help Center since 2010, assisting individuals who are navigating family law matters without representation. That volunteer work complements his mediation practice and underscores his long-term engagement with family law issues in the community.
Outside of individual client work, Lord has taken part in local and state bar activities. He joined the State Bar of Montana and its related sections beginning in 2009. He has been a member of the Western Montana Bar Association since 2010. In 2011 he accepted a leadership role as vice president of the Western Montana Estate Planners Council, a position he continues to hold. These memberships and roles keep him involved in conversations about estate planning, family law, and professional practice standards in the region.
Colleagues and community organizations have relied on him for mediation and advice in estate and family matters. He balances case work with volunteer service and professional association involvement. His background in English literature and law contributes to a practice that values clear writing and careful analysis.
He practices through Lord Law Office, P.C., handling family law, estate planning and mediation matters.
