About Mr. Allan L.

Mr. Allan L. Ziffra built a foundation in numbers before he ever set foot in a courtroom. He earned a B.A. in Accounting from DePaul University in 1983, then turned to law at Stetson University College of Law where he received his J.D. in 1985. He returned to school for an LL.M. in Tax Law from the University of Miami School of Law, completed in 1988. That advanced training in tax law sits alongside a long-standing membership in the Florida Bar, which began in 1988, and admission to the United States District Court.

His legal career led to entrepreneurship. In 1991 he founded Rue & Ziffra, P.A., and has served as its managing partner since. Under his leadership the firm established offices in Port Orange, Palm Coast and DeLand. The firm’s regional presence reflects years spent practicing in both municipal and federal settings.

Ziffra’s professional associations map a steady engagement with the bar and legal community. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1998 and belongs to the Volusia County Bar Association. He is listed as a current member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. From 2008 to 2010 he served on the board of the Florida Justice Association. He also joined the board of the Margarita Ball Society in 2008 and remains on that board today.

His educational background—accounting followed by a law degree and an LL.M. in tax—shapes how he approaches cases. He handles matters in state and federal courts. He pays attention to financial detail and procedural posture. Colleagues and opposing counsel encounter a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with technical training in tax and accounting concepts.

Outside the office his involvement on nonprofit and bar boards shows a steady pattern of civic engagement. The Margarita Ball Society role, in particular, has been a long-term commitment. He has balanced board service with running a multi-office law practice for decades.

At Rue & Ziffra he continues to manage the firm and handle cases that arise in Florida courts and in the U.S. District Court. His current practice centers on litigation in Florida state and federal courts.
