About Mr. Adam R.
Mr. Adam R. Banner studied philosophy at the University of Oklahoma before turning to law. He earned a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, returning there years later as an adjunct professor in 2022. His academic background blends liberal arts and legal training, and he has kept a connection to legal education alongside private practice.
His early legal work included a stint as a licensed legal intern at the Oklahoma County Public Defender's Office in 2008. That experience placed him in courtrooms and client meetings at the start of his career. In 2011 he founded The Law Offices of Adam R. Banner, P.C., where he has served as owner and lawyer since. He handles matters across state and federal forums and has built a practice grounded in litigation.
He is admitted in Oklahoma and before several federal tribunals: the Tenth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions allow him to represent clients at trial and to pursue appeals when cases progress beyond the district level. He has combined trial work and appellate handling over the course of his practice.
Banner is active in bar and professional groups. He holds memberships in the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also belongs to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Those affiliations connect him to continuing legal education and to peers who practice in both state and federal systems.
In 2022 he took on a teaching role at Oklahoma City University School of Law as an adjunct professor, bringing practical courtroom perspective into the classroom. The appointment drew on his years in practice and his background working in public defense early on. Students encountered someone who moves easily between law school settings and active litigation.
His office operates under his firm name, and he continues to accept cases that require courtroom representation and appellate advocacy. He balances private practice, bar participation and occasional academic work as part of a professional life rooted in litigation.
He currently practices criminal defense and related federal and state litigation at The Law Offices of Adam R. Banner, P.C.
