About Morgan

Morgan Given graduated from DePaul University in 2010 with a B.A. in history and English. She earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2013. Her academic path combined liberal arts and law, and it led quickly into hands-on legal work while she was still a student.

Early in her career she took on a series of internships and fellowships that exposed her to public-interest practice. In 2011 she interned at Prairie State Legal Services. The following year she worked as a legal intern with Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities and served as a health insurance counselor for a GW student project. In 2013 she held positions with Legal Services of Northern Virginia, the American Bar Association as a project lawyer, and as a law fellow with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project.

By 2014 she moved into roles that combined advocacy and private practice. That year she was a law fellow at the Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services. She also became a partner at Taradash Given, P.C. The shift into partnership came after a series of front-line roles in nonprofit legal services and public-benefit counseling. Those earlier positions continued to inform her work as she moved into firm-based practice.

Her background includes work on matters involving family services, disability advocacy and health insurance counseling. She has experience in both nonprofit and private settings. That mix of practice environments means she has handled client representation, intake and program-based legal assistance. Her case work has often intersected with public benefits and access to services.

She maintains memberships in the Midwest Access Coalition, the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect ongoing ties to networks that address access to reproductive and disability-related services, broader professional development and state-level practice concerns.

Since joining Taradash Given, P.C. she has continued to work on the types of cases that marked her earlier career. She represents clients in matters that draw on her experience with family services, disability-related issues and public benefits. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and currently serves as a partner at Taradash Given, P.C., where her practice focuses on family services, disability-related matters and access to public benefits.
