About Morgan

Morgan Cahill-Marsland took the long route to a courtroom table. She earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2016 after several years working in the private sector and interning with small law offices and mediation services. The law degree capped a period of hands-on legal training that began while she was still in school.

Her time at California Western included practical placements that exposed her to different sides of practice. In 2015 she served as a legal intern at Bridge Mediation LLC, where she observed alternative dispute resolution processes and the transactional work that often accompanies mediation. That same year she spent time with the firm Bornhoft and Berkenstadt, gaining experience in day-to-day firm operations and client intake. A year earlier, in 2014, she interned at the Law Office of Monica Marquez, assisting with legal research and document preparation while completing her coursework.

Before law school, Cahill-Marsland worked outside of the legal field in a support role that informed her administrative skills. In 2011 she was a contracts specialist and administrative assistant at Source Capital Funding, Inc. The job involved contract management and organizational tasks that later proved useful in law practice management.

After graduating in 2016 she joined the bar roll for California and maintained active involvement in professional organizations. She has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2016 and also belongs to the San Diego County Bar Association and the North County Bar Association, both affiliations she began in 2016. These memberships have kept her connected to continuing education and local legal networks.

Cahill-Marsland’s résumé shows a steady progression from administrative and contract work into legal internships and then into licensed practice. Her early internships offered exposure to mediation, firm practice, and client-facing responsibilities. Those experiences shaped the practical side of her legal training and informed how she approaches client work.

She is currently admitted to practice in California and works as a lawyer in the state. Her current practice focuses on legal matters arising under California law.
