About Morgan
Morgan Armbrust built a straightforward path into criminal defense that begins in the classroom and moves quickly into courtrooms. She studied economics at Baylor University before earning a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she concentrated on trial advocacy. That training shaped the practical side of her legal education. It exposed her to courtroom procedure and tactical thinking early on.
Her entry into public defense came while she was still a law student. In 2019 she interned at the Placer County Public Defender's Office, and the following year she worked as an intern for the Sacramento Public Defender's Office. Those placements put her in the day-to-day work of public defense. She handled client contact, case preparation and observed hearings. After passing the bar she served as a Post Bar Lawyer in 2021 back at the Placer County Public Defender's Office. There she continued developing courtroom skills and gained more responsibility on active cases.
Armbrust is admitted to practice in Texas and has since shifted her practice to that jurisdiction. She founded Armbrust Law, PLLC. The move from public defender work to private practice has allowed her to apply courtroom experience to individual client matters. Her background in both large public offices and smaller practice settings gives her a sense for how cases progress at different stages and in different forums.
Since 2022 she has been active in several professional groups. She holds memberships in the Dallas County Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Those affiliations reflect an emphasis on criminal defense and on the professional networks that support newer practitioners. She attends association meetings and educational programs to stay familiar with local court procedures and evolving practice issues.
Her approach to cases is practical and centered on preparation. She brings courtroom training from McGeorge and hands-on experience from public defense work to the clients she represents. She now operates Armbrust Law, PLLC, where she handles criminal defense matters in Texas.
