About Mitchell Reed

Mitchell Reed Sussman is an attorney specializing in real estate, bankruptcy, business, and entertainment law. Practicing in California since 1977, he has established offices in Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, and Palm Springs. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he pursued higher education with determination. In 1973, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from George Washington University. Three years later, in 1976, he graduated with a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law. Throughout his extensive career, Mr. Sussman has emerged as a leading consumer advocate in timeshare exit, cancellation, and litigation.

He has successfully prosecuted actions against major timeshare companies, securing the release of tens of thousands of timeshare owners from burdensome contracts. His expertise in this niche area of law has made him a sought-after resource for clients handling the requirements of timeshare agreements. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker, further enhancing his qualifications in real estate law. Mr. Sussman has also contributed significantly to the legal community. He served as a panel member for the Beverly Hills Bar Association's Benjamin Crocker Seminar, focusing on real estate and bankruptcy issues. His commitment to education and advocacy extends beyond the courtroom.

Since the early 1980s, he has lectured on bankruptcy and foreclosure, sharing his knowledge and insights with fellow attorneys and the public. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish PSTV Partners, LLC in 1999, where he acquired an FCC broadcast license to build KVCR Desert Cities Public Television. This station was dedicated to broadcasting an over-the-air PBS signal to Palm Springs and the surrounding desert resorts, showcasing his commitment to community service through media.

In 2022, Mr. Sussman transitioned into retirement, passing the torch to his daughter, Juliet Sussman, who now leads the practice under the name Sussman & Associates. The firm has expanded its operations to include offices in Las Vegas and San Diego, reflecting its growth and adaptability in a changing legal field. Mr. Sussman remains a member of the California State Bar's litigation section and has been recognized in "Who's Who in America." He is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and he continues to hold his real estate broker license in California.
