About Misti
Misti Floyd built a foundation in the law that began in Clarksville and led to Chicago. She earned a B.S. from Austin Peay State University in 1999 and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2002. Those credentials set the stage for a legal career that now spans more than two decades.
After law school, Floyd took the practical steps many young attorneys do: she moved into courtroom work and client counseling. Over the years she has taken on cases and matters across two state lines. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and Tennessee, and she maintains an active role in bar life. Her membership in the Illinois State Bar Association is current and she participates in its programs when her schedule allows.
Her career has included courtroom appearances, negotiations and file-by-file client work. Floyd has experience handling individual matters and advising clients on procedural questions and civil concerns. She has worked on matters that require close attention to filing deadlines, discovery schedules and courtroom procedures. Colleagues describe her approach as practical and steady; she tends to break complex problems into manageable steps and to communicate plainly with clients.
In building her practice she has also managed the business side of law. Running a small office has meant juggling case strategy, client communications and the administrative duties that keep a firm running day to day. Those responsibilities have given her a direct view of how legal work is delivered to everyday clients and how systems and staff support affect outcomes.
Today Floyd heads Floyd Law Office, LLC. She sees cases from both sides of the state line and handles matters that bring her into Illinois and Tennessee courts and administrative proceedings. Her office remains compact and client-focused, reflecting a preference for hands-on case management rather than large-firm bureaucracy.
Her practice concentrates on serving clients in Illinois and Tennessee through Floyd Law Office, LLC.
