About Milda
Milda Goeriz trained in two legal systems before moving into practice in the United States. She earned a JD and an LLM in 2003 from Vilnius University Law Faculty, where she studied international and European Union law and concentrated on property rights. She later completed an LL.M. in United States Legal Practice at Golden Gate University School of Law in 2007. She also holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Her education set the stage for a career that crosses national lines. Early work drew on her grounding in European law and property matters. After completing studies in the U.S., she transitioned into American tax practice. The combination of an EU law background and advanced tax training shaped how she approaches regulatory and transactional questions.
In 2015 she founded the San Diego Tax Law Group and served as its principal lawyer. That work involved counseling clients on tax planning, compliance, and dispute resolution. Over time she shifted toward a smaller practice model that allowed for closer client contact and more direct management of casework.
In 2020 she launched a solo practice under the name Milda Goeriz, Lawyer at Law. Since then she has handled matters in state and federal tax settings. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and is licensed in California. Her caseload has included contested tax proceedings, advice on reporting obligations, and matters that touch on cross-border issues where tax rules and property-law concepts intersect.
Goeriz remains active in the local legal community. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the San Diego Lawyers Club. She participates in the California State Bar Taxation Section. Those affiliations keep her connected to developments in tax law and to peers who practice in related fields.
Her background in international and EU law continues to inform how she evaluates cases, especially when clients face questions that cross jurisdictions. The academic focus on property rights also appears in work that involves real property and transactional tax concerns. She maintains a solo practice in California where she handles federal and state tax matters, tax controversies, and related legal issues.
