About Mike
Mike Cunningham studied history, communication and law & society as an undergraduate at Purdue University, where he earned his B.A. in 2012. He went on to attend Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, completing his J.D. in 2017 and taking courses in criminal law and advocacy. Those years shaped the courtroom skills and procedural understanding he relies on today.
Soon after law school he began practicing in Indiana. He has been active in local and state bar groups and professional organizations since the late 2010s. His involvement in community and professional circles includes leadership roles as well as membership in national defense organizations, which has kept him plugged into developments in criminal and DUI practice.
Cunningham’s association work is varied. He served as president of the Dearborn County Young Professionals beginning in 2018 and remains involved. He joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2019 and became a member of the National College for DUI Defense in 2020. That same year he participated in the Indiana State Bar Association Leadership Development Academy, Class 9. He also serves on the advisory board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati & Southeast Indiana.
Those memberships reflect practical priorities. Cunningham spends much of his time in court and in client meetings. His law school training in advocacy shows in jury preparation, witness examination and motion practice. He works on a range of criminal matters, and he has developed particular familiarity with DUI cases and related collateral issues.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and straightforward in courtroom advocacy. He balances attention to precedent and procedural detail with efforts to communicate clearly to clients about risks and options. He is a regular participant in continuing education through the organizations he joined in 2019 and 2020, keeping up on changes in evidence rules, sentencing practice and DUI science.
Cunningham’s community ties extend beyond law. His work with Big Brothers Big Sisters places him in local youth mentoring circles, and his leadership of area young professionals highlights an interest in regional civic life. These roles inform his view of how legal problems affect families and communities.
He is licensed to practice in Indiana and is based at Mullin, McMillin & McMillin, LLP. He currently practices at Mullin, McMillin & McMillin, LLP, concentrating on criminal defense and DUI matters.
