About Michelle Skatoff
Michelle Skatoff Gee is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1997. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Gee is a managing attorney at Seaport Law Group LLP, a law firm specializing in immigration law, located in Redwood City, California. She has been practicing law for over 28 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Ms. Gee earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1997. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Bachelor of Architecture in 1992. During her time at Loyola, she developed a strong foundation in legal principles, which she has applied throughout her career in immigration law.
Ms. Gee concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law, representing a diverse clientele that includes multinational corporations, small startups, universities, artists, performers, and individuals from various countries. She handles cases involving employment-based green cards, work visas such as H-1B, L, E, O, and P visas, as well as family-based green cards and fiancée visas. Her practice also encompasses humanitarian immigration matters, including DACA and U visas for crime victims. Ms. Gee is experienced in all stages of immigration proceedings, from initial consultations and application filings to appeals and federal court litigation.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gee has represented clients before various courts and agencies, including the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has successfully litigated complex immigration cases, such as Zizi v. Cuccinelli, 20-cv-07856-SVK (N.D. Cal. Jun. 24, 2021), where she represented a Silicon Valley entrepreneur in obtaining an EB-1 visa for an immigrant of extraordinary ability after denials at the USCIS and Administrative Appeals Office. Prior to founding Seaport Law Group LLP, she operated her own immigration law firm, Gee Law Firm, from 2001 to 2016.
Ms. Gee is an active member of the State Bar of California and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
