Michele Marie Charbonneau is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991 and holds bar number 155609. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Charbonneau is a partner at Brown & Charbonneau, LLP, a law firm located in Irvine, California. She has been practicing law for over 34 years, serving clients throughout Southern California, including Orange County and the greater Los Angeles area.
Ms. Charbonneau earned her Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in 1991, where she served as an editor for the Western State University of Law Review and graduated as the salutatorian of her class. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of San Diego. She has also pursued advanced studies at the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Charbonneau concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, including divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, and domestic violence. She represents individuals and families in matters involving child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, custody and support modifications, breach of fiduciary duty, and domestic violence. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Charbonneau has handled numerous family law cases, some of which have resulted in published law-making decisions. She has also served as an adjunct professor of Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy at Western State University College of Law. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Charbonneau is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, the Orange County Women’s Lawyers Association, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Southern California Mediation Association. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Orangewood Children’s Foundation/PALS. She is also a certified mediator through the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution. Ms. Charbonneau is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
