Michael T. Willis is the founding attorney of Willis Law Group LLC, a firm dedicated to estate planning, elder law, and Medicaid planning. With over 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Willis has established a reputation for his expertise in these critical areas. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2002 and also holds admission to the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey. His academic journey includes earning a Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2001, following studies at The Ohio State University and Seton Hall University. Early in his career, Mr.
Willis served as a Special Deputy Attorney General in New Jersey for five years. During this time, he handled cases related to insurance and health insurance fraud. This role not only developed his investigative and analytical skills but also laid a strong foundation for his future practice. The experience he gained in this position continues to inform his approach to solving clients’ legal challenges, particularly in complex cases involving elder law and Medicaid. Over the years, Mr. Willis has assisted clients across 15 New Jersey counties in various legal matters. His focus includes Medicaid Crisis Planning, Medicaid Preplanning, Asset Protection, and related family issues.
Today, he dedicates most of his practice to helping individuals and families navigate the intricate requirements of estate and elder law. His extensive knowledge allows him to provide tailored solutions that meet the needs of each client. Mr. Willis is an active member of several professional organizations. He is affiliated with the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the New Jersey Bar Association. Additionally, he is involved with ElderCounsel, an organization that emphasizes Medicaid and Asset Protection Planning. These memberships keep him updated on the latest developments in elder law, ensuring that his clients receive the most current and effective legal advice.
